Day 3: A Whirlwind Day

Today started out at the White House. Mrs. Starnes organized us in an alphabetical line and the very thorough check-in moved rather quickly. It was a really special treat to get to go into the White House...especially today since it was Grant Clarno's birthday.

Next was the Air and Space Museum along with lunch. Unfortunately my camera died here so no pictures, but trust me....we had a lot of fun.

Next it was off to the Holocaust Museum.

The shoes collected from people before the went to the gas chamber.

Then it was off the National Cathedral for Even Song Prayer Service before dinner at Union Station. After dinner we visited our last three monuments: Jefferson, FDR and MLK, Jr. They were lovely at night.

Tomorrow we pack up a bit earlier than the itinerary indicates. We will depart the hotel at 7:30 to get to the Capitol for our tour. We will see the Library of Congress before lunch in the Capitol Cafe. We have had a busy day. I bet we have lots of sleepy kids on the way home tomorrow.
